Description
We will leave from York towards the enchanting town of Pickering, called the ‘Gateway to the Moors’ and the southern terminus of the North York Moors Railway. Chance to discover the station and see this charming market town. Also savor some hot brew and home-made pastries, explore the historic Church and its medieval wall painting and explore the beautiful town. Next we head off the ‘Beaten Track’ into the North Yorkshire Moors National Park and click some of the best memorable moments.

Our next stop is Goathland, a vintage moorland village and see Goathland Station, which was converted into ‘Hogsmeade’ for Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone. The shop on the platform was remodeled into the “Prefect’s Room” and the Ladies toilets became the “Wizard’s Room”.

We arrive in Whitby for lunch, a conventional seaside town, where you can find a wide choice of eateries – with fish and chips being the local favourite. There are numerous of things to discover and do like visiting the dramatic ruins of Whitby Abbey, that has been the inspiration for the novel ‘ Dracula’ or even taking a stroll along the harbour with its quaint shops.

We drive via more classic moorland landscape as we make our way through Egton and Egton Bridge, and then down the popular 33% Gradient on Limber Hill. Our journey will take us onto Glaisdale, this tranquil village is home to Beggers Bridge, a 17th century bridge with an intimate story behind it.

We get onto the heart of the Moors in the afternoon. On leaving Glaisdale we go to the high Moors, to enjoy consistent panoramic views for miles, halting at the renowned landmark of Ralph’s Cross. As we make our way out of the National Park we visit the market town of Helmsley, you will have time to check out bustling market square, the impressive castle ruins, the charming tea rooms or the inviting inns. Departing Helmsley we start making our way back towards York whilst experiencing the views over the Vale of York. Sit back and enjoy more scenic Yorkshire countryside as your wonderful tour draws to an end.
