This bus tour takes us to the Southern area of the island to discover the hidden gems of the area. The first stop of the tour is the 16th century Monastery of Prophet Elias. The Monastery is built on the highest point of the island, 565 meters above the sea level, presenting a breath-taking panoramic view of the whole island!
After the Monastery we explore Megalochori, probably the most traditional villages on the Island. Our guide will take you via the narrow streets so you will have the opportunity to appreciate the traditional architecture and the different craftsmanship of the local masons.
Akrotiri* archaeological site is our subsequent destination. With the assistance of our guide, you will discover possibly the most important prehistoric settlements of the Aegean. Also enjoy a coffee break or lunch (own expense) of traditional mezedes and ouzo at the local eatery. Reach Red Beach on foot and enjoy your time in swimming and snorkelling.
Leaving the archaeological treasures, we then head towards the beautiful beach of Perivolos at the southern part of Santorini. Perivolos is an organized beach with black sand. Enjoy two hours of leisure time to swim, eat in a local Greek taverna or just relax and explore the area.
To complete an ideal day, we will pay a visit to a local winery where you may taste distinct local wines and have a mini tutorial on the specific characteristics of Santorini vineyards.
At the conclusion of the tour the bus will take you back to the village you started the excursion.
