On this full-day excursion, you will explore the history of Scotland. Your journey will start at 9 in the morning from Edinburgh. Your driver guide will take you to explore picturesque Scotland.

The tour starts with a drive through the classy landscape of the Scottish Borders, the southern part of the country with its picturesque towns and villages. This is also the region where Sir Walter Scott lived. He was not desolate but a famous writer and musician, also an infinite believer in the Union between Scotland and England. In 1822 he invited King George IV to Edinburgh, which was a great success by all of King George being the as a matter of choice monarch to visit in approximately 150 years. Sir Walter Scott rests in Dryburgh Abbey, not away from Melrose where the first half of your tour will be.

In Melrose, you have the chance to visit Melrose Abbey* -widely regarded as one of the most beautiful archaeological remains in Europe. It was founded in 1136 by Roman Catholic monks by the influence of King David I of Scotland and was constructed in the Gothic method, in the art an element of a St. John's Cross. Besides from since the undeniable resting place to an abode of Scottish Kings and Nobles, Robert Bruce’s heart is believed to be buried in the Abbey as well. The lead container particularly believed to restrain the heart was hanging in suspense till 1921 below the Chapter House land and was reburied in 1998 by all of a plinth covering the burial site.

Here you can roam around Medieval Walls of the castle and see opulent State Rooms, it also has a library with a collection of 14,000 books in the Royal Library. You may take a part in Broomstick flying session as well! Downtown Abbey exhibition displays photography, costumes and props of the Harry Potter series.

On your way back to Edinburgh, you can explore beautiful East Coast with a photo stop at Berwick-Upon-Tweed – a beautiful coastal town.
